It is that time of the year when everyone gets hooked to one thing- Lake Fashion Week. The 2016 LFW began with a bang bringing latest trends and showcasing the best of Summer Resort collection of 2016. The Day 1 on March 30 began with a bang.
Personified by a fictional character named Lolita, ‘A Petticoat’ by Archana Rao for her Frou-Frou label gave a coming-of-age fun and an easy going vibe at Lakmé Fashion Week, Summer/Resort 2016. The playfulness and effortlessness of Lolita were showcased through the garments which successfully amused and pleased everyone.
Top trend of this season was the highlight of the show as the key to it was in inner wear. In its way, it was an ingenious idea of bringing inner wear, to the forefront of the woman’s wardrobe.
Sheer was Lolita’s best friend and connected all the garments together. The details of the vintage petticoats like small rosettes, crochet lace, tiny polka dots, and pinstripes added the touch of romanticism. It was a collection with an array of textures present in slip dresses were worn with oversized sheer shirts, rosette embroidered cropped tops with scalloped voile skirts and one-piece pinafore dresses.
The soothing atmosphere took the audience to a dreamland where the powdery pink slip dress was hidden with the porous pretty jacket adorned by cutwork border and long balloon sleeves. The rosettes blossomed on a sleeveless cropped top and the structure was teamed with a soft blue panelled long skirt, which was accessorised by shoes with flowers blooming on them. Even the sari presented was a dreamy netted drape.
Archana Rao’s Frou-Frou label took the viewers on a romantic reverie of playful and easy-breezy times with her ‘A Petticoat’ collection. It was an amusing, entertaining and fantastic fashion fantasy.
